I've not had the opportunity to shoot a Colt wheelgun, but I have held them. Seem mighty nice.

Well, it's looking like S&W so far! Nothing wrong with that. I don't think I've picked up

a Colt before. My only two wheelguns have been Taurus, so far, but I'll that 44 Smith

some day.

You need to fix this survey. It is definitely flawed. It's like asking if you like Harleys or Indians.

I have had both. Now I only have one. Colt all the way! Best triggers I've ever pulled! Not knocking the Smith. They are great guns too, but I love Colts. Have two of them and I'd love more. The reason Colt is no longer around in the revolver market is they got greedy. Much like the way Smith is now. It got to the point where the Colt just cost too much. LE no longer could justify the extra cost and neither could the consumer. I think we are starting to see the same thing happening between Smith and Taurus.

I'd like to shoot that 27! I'll bet it really shoots great. I always thought the checkered topstrap on them were a nice touch of class not found on other revolvers.

With a 60 and a 585, guess Smith is my vote.

DA revolvers, Colt. Especially in the later years. S&W is and was a mass manufactured pistol. The Colt's were much better finished. I've owned too many S&W revolvers with overtightened barrels and other issues to choose them over Colt. That said both were on the average well made I own and have owned bot that I like very much.

When it comes to the old single action revolvers, it is a toss up. I really like them both equally I believe.

i had to go with colt i have trooper III 357 mag that like a cool glass of cool aid smooth trigger right out of the box. and i just have to think were i want it to hit the target and it does the rest for me. i have a smith but it just does not give me the love my colt does

I really like shooting these, and I recently got a Smith 686 4" from a member here it also shoots great and has a real smooth trigger.

If you don't have at least one wheelgun I think you're missing out on a great shooting experience.

So I'd say both.

Smith. Fit,finish, and durability are superior. Quality costs, and lasts far longer than the quick 'glow' enjoyed when one thinks a 'good deal' has been made.

If Colt was still making DA revolvers I would have probably voted for them. But with all the new materials S&W is using now days I had to go with them. But the is no doubt about it, Colt made a great revolver in their day. And their SAA that they make now are as good as they ever were.

I vote for the colts. Smiths are fine but I'm just more of a Colt kind of guy.

I guess its because I own three Colts and only one really old Smith.

And to whom it was that said "what no Rugers" I own more Ruger revolvers than any other brand,

but their triggers aren't even close to as smooth as a Smith or a Colt, IMHO
