Has anyone signed up for this "free" insurance? Any catches? I got a letter about it today and was wondering if it's worth it and if it's actually free.

I have a friend that had all his guns stolen in a home burglary and the NRA insurance paid him $1000 dollars for his loss. That was the max amount of the free insurance that came with his membership. Paid off quick too.

Just had to call them today seems like they have raised the amount to $2500.00 in coverage. I have only heard of an account of a duck hunter losing a shotgun out of a boat and the insurance paid up. They also offer reasonable rates on extended coverage above the minimum.

That's the catch, they hope you will need more than the minimum and purchase more. Its a marketing tactic just like other free offers and such. Only this one seems to actually pay even if you don't buy more

some many years ago I made a claim on the NRA insurance due to a break in, they paid right up no problems. I sent mine back in just a few days ago for the upgrade.
