Dear Franklin Gun Shop...

I have bought as many guns at FGS as at any other gun store. It's hard to resist when you're standing there holding it. Inventory is awesome!

Making money is awesome too. Which is why if I was in charge at FGS we'd be open until at least 7PM. And on Mondays too...

Prices are prices. People will either buy or they won't. That will be a partial factor in the success of a business. What I refuse to bow to is poor customer service and inconvenient hours of operation. It sucks but if you are going to be in the retail anything business you have to be open when the majority of your customers are off. That is why I worked Friday and Saturday nights when I was a restaurant manager. That was when the biggest amount of my customers showed up.

FGS has good inventory, I've had a few good and a few bad experiences but mostly I don't go because they aren't open when I need them to be. So by default I end up shopping elsewhere.

As far as money vs common sense in Williamson County: I apparently got the short end of the stick on both counts...

While the common sense insult goes a bit too far, you are somewhat correct.

It wasn't an insult. It's the truth. If that bothers you, you might need to evaluate whether you fall into that demographic. And then you need to stop being so bothered by other people's opinions. Sack up.

That's ok... they aren't going to evict you for it. Besides, you're probably not the target customer for a five-star doggy day spa either, but Williamson has those too. ;)

Well, no, it's your opinion, not fact. Is it true that most Smyrnaites are jealous of those that live in Williamson because they have more money and can afford nicer things? Some people hold that opinion..... So does it make it true? I'd personally say 'no', but you seem to be changing the definition of 'fact' a bit.....

You know what they say about opinions and *******s........ ;)

I can see that my remarks have gotten to you for some reason, on a level entirely different than they have gotten to anyone else in this thread. I wonder what vested interest you might have in this whole issue.

:)

As for us Smyrnaites being jealous of anyone in Williamson, suffice it to say that I don't measure my dick by the number of zeros on my property taxes and never have found myself facing an insatiable need to out-spend someone else. But you know, I'd welcome the opportunity to discuss your perceptions of me in person sometime. For some reason, you never seem to be at the same shoots as me. Maybe it's because you're busy working a gun counter those days.

Not to cause any trouble, but growing up in Williamson County and having a Dr. and a lawyer for parents...I agree with Guy that at a certain level of income, convenience really can play a deciding factor. I don't try to make sweeping generalizations about rich people being stupid or poor people being jealous, I have been on both ends of the economic spectrum and can tell you that stupidity and jealousy don't discriminate, both traits are well represented throughout Middle TN and there is little correlation between $ and either of thse character flaws

Ah, dick measuring references. This thread got classy!

My Smyrna reference was merely an example. Sorry it got you so upset, but maybe now you get my point. I did try to make it clear above that I really don't hold that opinion.

I can promise you that I have no affiliation with FGS other than being an occasional customer. I'm not sure why you would make that claim, other than to try to deflect my opinion on the topic. There are several people here who have met me in person, and many of those also frequent FGS. I'm sure any of those people can verify that I don't work there.

I was under the opinion, based on one of your earlier posts in this thread that we shouldn't be concerned about others opinions, and that those that were needed to "sack up.". Therefore, it is surprising to me that you would care enough to meet me in person to discuss my opinion of you. I did attend the shoot in October, but my schedule prevented my attendance in November and December. I'm always happy to meet a fellow TGO member. Heck, I might even be able to meet you for lunch today, if your schedule permits. I will have to rearrange a few things. What's your favorite restaurant in Williamson County? I must insist, however, that we go Dutch.....don't want to give anyone the impression that I need to out spend anyone else. :)

Wait, let's kill two birds with one stone. Let's meet at FGS. I've been thinking about picking up a new G23, so we can meet AND I can prove that I don't work there at the same time! Brilliant!!!!

BTW, it's easier to measure your dick with a ruler.

Very well put.

Oh yeah, "sack up". That's two references to male genitalia in one thread! Ha ha...

Talk about thread derails... this went from talking about Franklin Gun Shop's hours to "My county can beat up your county... but it wouldn't". :D
