9mm Texas-style

Just finished putting my new gun together, plan on running this thing hard.

STI Trojan 9mm ambi-safety.

- Added: S&A slim magwell, slim-ambi-magwell smooth Alumagrips covered in skateboard tape (Jessup brand, yes, it matters), Dawson Precision .090" width front sight (actually just changed it to a .090" plain-black-serrated as FO's don't work for me), Ed Brown tactical-extended mag release, 9lb ISMI recoil spring.

*(parts not yet installed or for down the road: AFTEC extractor, Ed Brown GI-length guide-rod and recoil-spring plug, Ed Brown grip safety)

Other mods: just tweaked the sear spring a bit and opened up the notch on the rear sight to .125"

Accurate as any 1911 I've ever shot, runs like a top. I'm using the Wilson Combat 10rd ETM 9mm mags.

So far this is a ridiculously good shooting/running gun, highly recommended.

Started life like this:

First rounds through the gun shooting casually while sighting it in at 12 yards (not that great I know, I was giddy and getting used to it while dialing in the rear sight... more recent targets are so pretty you might not believe me...):

I'll give you $200 for it. I will even drive to pick it up.

What, no Hi-Point you'd like to trade..?

Looks great !

Thanks, just a few crummy iphone pics and it's not really set-up to be pretty anyways, that said though, the pics don't really do it any justice, it does really look cool in a MadMax/stealth/aggressive sort of way... the griptape-alumagrips feel/work better than anything I've come across.

It's all business, seriously a nice feeling, fast handling gun, trigger is crisp as hell at around 2.5-3lbs and the slide feels like it's on ball-bearings, STI doesn't play around.

Aren't you glad that someone else said it before I did?

Hells yes. But many of us were thinking it. It's not typical, but in this case I believe the steel player beat the drummer to the punch. :)

Nice. I will probably have a 100% STI in the future. They have some really nice stuff. My newest 2011 is half STI.

I believe halfway to "I" is about "D;" so you have an STD?

Congrats on the Trojan. Very nice pistol. STI makes a great 1911 and IMO, dollar for dollar, the Trojan is at the top of it's class.
