Thanks for the info. I'm having a problem finding one in stock.

On Target in M'boro has them.

Outpost in M'boro has them.

Bass Pro has them....they are easy to find. It's a mass produced entry level firearm.

Has anyone seen the "enhanced" version? I was curious about price and what makes them "enhanced" other than different hammer.

The range officer has no MIM parts any longer. Neither does the TRP.

And where did you get that information? I've seen email after email from Deb and other CS reps at Springfield who say otherwise.

Plainsman, IF you were talking to spoolie (not sure without quotes), I believe it's because he changed the parts out on his particular guns.

So spoolie, assumming the above is correct, did your parts break? Or, was it just your preference to change them out as you modified your pistol? Again, if the later is true, why are you in a better position to condemn someone for buying a R1?

Yes, I was talking to spoolie. I was on my phone and it just doesn't seem to work the same. I just wasn't thinking out of the box at the time about spoolie having possibly replaced all of his small parts. To each his own, but I don't really know why you'd spend so much on something like the TRP to just replace the internals instead of just going ahead and buying a Baer, DW, etc....He is a 'weapon abuser' I guess. Its not very often that I read about any internal MIM part in a TRP breaking/failing and most speak pretty well about Springfield's QC of their MIM. On the other hand, you hear a lot of issues with the MIM parts with Kimbers. Don't really need to start that debate either I don't guess...

I apologize to the OP for helping to hijack this thread....my previous comment had nothing to do with anything dealing with an R1. I hear they have several new models to be released soon as well. May want to wait and see what happens there. Carry on.

Uselton has some nice $900 1911s for $10,000. Then he would tell you that you could not look at them.

Haha...thats' awesome!

I've been in there a few times. Never saw one person shooting in the range or buy anything. I have no idea how they pay the bills. Mr. Uselton must have deep pockets.

I did shoot there once when I first moved here. What a mistake that was. First off membership fees are outrageous and you can't bring your own ammo. Have to buy their overpriced low grade no-name ammo. I remember I shot one round at 25 yds that hit the top of the target holder and ricocheted hitting the ceiling. The guy no lie rushed in and said "I just painted that panel. I won't charge you this time". Can you believe that garbage? Apparenlty there was no traffic in the store and he had nothing better to do that to watch my every move. Granted I'm a young business professional dressed in nice cloths with money to spend, not a gang member looking for trouble.

Anyway I'm never steppin foot in there again as you can imagine...

I don't know much about Uselton or his guns, but I was in there last weekend. The place was packed......and he didn't have a 25 yard range..... :tough:

I've only been there during the week the few times I was there is probably why. Well whatever their furthest distance is was almost a year ago.

i t only cost 15.00 plus 1 box of ammo thats not too bad

You dont think $35 total is too bad? That's what it cost me to run 50 rds of crappy noname dirty ammo. I brought 10 boxes of clean ammo that they wouldn't let me use on my own gun. Anyway I already expressed my opinion...I'm sure there are some Uselton fans out there however I haven't met 1 yet.

Cost me $5.50 at Stones River Range....and I don't have to buy overpriced ammo.

Hmm, must have changed their policy. I had to buy one box of ammo, but I was allowed to use as much of my own as I wished.

Sorry for the derail......
