Balanced Budget Amendment proposed.

Recommended Posts

As heard on Mark Levin this balanced budget idea has been tried before but we need it now more than ever. Plus it may have a chance since more folks have awaken.

Our TN representatives may already be on board with it but as a heads-up it's something to watch as close as the grab for more gun/rights restrictions.

MORE INFO and what you can do.

This has been proposed, and proposed, and proposed.

The Dems do it when the GOP is in the President's Office, and the GOP try it when Dems are...

Basically put, I do not believe it will pass, as it ties the hands of the power players too much.

Well, maybe it won't, but something needs to happen pretty soon. Just printing money

isn't wise.

Even if they passed such an amendment, do you think they could really make the changes needed to balance the budget? A lot of the spending is "off the books". It will take very painful cuts to even begin to get our budget mess in line. Think 40% across the board. Congress doesn't have the stomach for it.

I don't think it will ever happen. At least not any time soon. The problem is that our states are addicted to the handouts from the federal government in the form of pork barrel spending. Until the states get off the dole and our government realizes what their spending spree is doing to the country's credit in the global economy nothing will change.

This could be used as justification to raise taxes. We don't have a revenue problem . . . We have a spending problem! I'm skeptical of the 20% GDP cap. We used to only have 15-17% GDP budget. Now, it's 25%. 25% makes 20% look good. Anyone smell the rotten fish here?
