Anyone going to the show at the Alhambra Shrine this weekend?

I tell myself after each show that I will not be going back, but I will probably go anyway. Anyone else going?

Never been to that one. Does it suck or might be worthwhile?

It used to be pretty good. The last three or four times I went I was dissapointed. However, as I stated earlier, I will probably go anyway. Maybe this show will be better than the last few.

I'll probably go. I look at it as a $6 donation to charity and it won't make me fat like buying a Shriner's pecan log will

There have been fewer and fewer dealers, and the prices have been sky high. That being said, I bought a Remington model 12 pump .22, c.1928 on the front porch and a .22 High Standard revolver that I had been looking for for years at a private sale table. Both haggled and I got both guns at a good price. I wont go back this time but it does beat walking the sporting goods aisle at Walmart.

They run more shriners shows during the year compared to others. Maybe I can make it saturday. Am not currently looking for anything.

It isn't a big show and there is a lot of old stuff that possibly would be more interesting to collectors. But I've found a couple of items at shriners was looking for. I don't collect knives, but occasionally see a cheap old knife to buy. Quite a few used knives. Sometimes the old used knives are pretty kewl and low price, even if they probably don't have any collector value.

I'll be there in the AM on Saturday.

As will I..

I am coming with a gentleman who just found out that old worthless pistol he has had forever is actually a

"US Army" / "United States Property" Marked,1911 Colt that was manufactured in 1917..Should be interesting at least..

What I wouldn't give to be sitting on a WWI Colt 1911:eek:

I made a big score at today's show.

I walked out with two Shriner's pecan rolls. I haven't had one in a long time, so I figured I would buy a couple.

I argued with a guy over an old set of RCBS .358 Win dies for a few minutes. His friend, who wasn't there, wanted $25 dollars for them. They were old and crusty, but still functional. I offered him the going rate of $15 dollars. He refused to call his friend and extend my offer. I gave up. I can buy them new for $30. No crust.

That is about the extent of my shopping. I looked at a lot of reloading stuff that was priced higher than Sportsman's. What were they smoking when they priced this stuff? It was disappointing. I saw nothing of interest at a decent price.
