Are all shotgun shells magnetic near the primer? I am going to google this as well but may or may not get much of an answer so I thought I would ask some experts too.

Thanks!

-----Several sites said they all are. Hooray.

Whole base is magnetic.

Even though terms used are "high brass" and "low brass", I always thought they were steel of some sort, with brass layer?

used to be brass back in the day now most use some sort of ferrous alloy with a brass wash.. the old ACTIV hulls were total plastic with a steel ring to hold the primer..

Win AA and Rem STS/Nitro are brass base-non magnetic. BUT the primers are steel and hence 'near the primer' would be an affirmative.
