I know of 2 big gun companies in TN: Sabre and Barrett.

Does anyone know of any machine shops making AR-15 lowers or complete guns? I heard of one about 50 miles south of Nashville or so, but not sure if they are still in business. Just curious if there might be more out there?

you cannot buy one direct from mohawk. theres a shop a few miles from me who stocks them

You do have to have Mohawk get the lowers to your FFL as Mohawk wont do the back ground checks. Just like most any other gun maker. But you can pay Mohawk as I did.
