1911 builder in TN

Does anyone know if there is a 1911 frame and slide machine shop in TN? Now not a shop that could machine 1 for $1,000. I was wondering if there are any companies even in lower volume production. I know Storm Lake is in Lenoir City, TN making barrels, but you would never know you drove by the place if you were not looking for it.

Predator custom shop makes custom hand fitted 1911's for around 700 dollars tax and all. They are nice to.

Correct, Uselton makes nothing. Sam Hoster assembles and mods those 1911s. He's used Caspian frames in the past. He may use Remsport now.

Let me (and us) know what you find. I'm really liking that AR lower and would love to see his 1911 Frames. Find out if he's machining them or if they are forged.

Mohawk has only made a few (less than 5) 1911's. They will do this, but I got the feeling you would really have to push them to make one for you.

As for the AR lowers. Jim won't sell a lower outright, but pushes his complete rifles. The lowers are forgings that he machines.

If you are looking for a great custom made 1911, talk to Mark Dye @ Dye Custom Inc. He is located in the Maryville area and does super work, though he may be out of your price range.
