Not for a compact carry gun; maybe for a full size duty or competition gun.

But I’ve had four M&P’s, have two now, and I haven’t been disappointed in the triggers for carry guns.

Shoot it and see if you think it needs anything.

Shoot it first and see. For me on two of my three M&Ps it made a huge improvement. My M&P40 was a freak of manufacturing and just has the most awesome trigger I've felt yet from an M&P out of the box. It must have been made on a Wednesday or something.

As David said, try it first and see how you like it.

My full size 40 does have the Apex hard sear and I really like it compared to the factory. At the time I bought mine Apex had just started making M&P parts and the hard sear was all they had developed at the time.

I doubt I'll add the other parts of the DCEAK kit at this point.

Once I get it out to the range I will have a better idea, but I would like a crisper reset.

If you already know you want a better trigger, then it's an easy answer. You certainly can't go wrong.

Ordered the D/CAEK and the Reset Assist Mechanism yesterday. We'll see if my smithing skills are up to the install when they get here.

Just watch the videos. There are a couple of tedious moments, but it's not hard.

I have both the DCAEK and the RAM on my 9 and 9c. The reset is not as crisp as a Glock, but Its a significant improvement from stock.

The RAM wasn't available when I bought my parts. I have the mag safety in mine, so the original RAM won't work without removing that. Decisions...

Ditch the mag safety. Useless piece of feel-good garbage.

I agree. I have a mixed bag of pistols with and without. Just hasn't bugged me, so I left it alone. The RAM sounds like a real good mod, so that's good incentive.

Just ordered the RAM kit. There's a little trick to disabling the mag safety. You have to add a spring to fill the gap on the pin that's left by the missing parts. Any recommendations on that? The guy that documented the mods used a cut down mag release spring from a 1911.

Just installed the RAM and DCAEK kit and from dry firing there is only one word to describe the difference. WOW. Very clean, smooth trigger pull with a light crisp break . No more mushy indistinct reset, it is now short and positive in feel with an audible click. I can't wait to get this thing out to the range and see how it operates there. S&W really ought to just install these parts stock.

If you have a M&P you need the Apex DCAEK and RAM.

so.. you can remove this retarted mag safety? lord help me haha

RAM installed (like it). Mag safety is gone. I used part of a spring from a ballpoint pen. Now, all I gotta do is figure out how to write that warning on the slide. Recon some red model airplane paint will work?

why write the message on the slide?
