Essential Reading Library (carry and self-defense)

Recommended Posts

Hello, everyone.

For quite a few years now I've been building my library of firearms related books and especially those related to handgun carry and/or using a firearm in a defensive situation and I just thought it might be worthwhile for TGO members to comprise a list of, say, the top 10 or top 20 books that we can unequivocally say that EVERYONE who carries/uses a weapon for defense should read.

I'll start this off by suggesting two of my favorites.

1. "In The Gravest Extreme" by Massad Ayoob

2. "Principles Of Personal Defense" by Jeff Cooper.

So...if you have a favorite or two; please post and tell us what they are.

I wouldn't have thought of "Gunproof Your Children" since I don't have children...I'm glad you added it.

I haven't read "Lessons from Armed America" but it just made my list!

Quite honestly, everything in Gunproof your Children is here.... Cornered Cat - Table of Contents fyi... Kathy Jackson is "Cornered Cat" and is an Ayoob disciple. I'm a bit surprised to not find a link to her book there.
