Glock 36 trigger bar / mechanism defect?

Howdy all!

I just came home with a brand new Glock 36 in OD, a gun that I have wanted for quite a while. However, it has rapidly lost its luster, here's why:

It looks to me like the trigger bar has a huge dent in it, unless I am crazy. It is pronounced enough that when I take the gun apart and go to put it back together, it is difficult to get the slide back onto the frame. Also, the metal spike (dont know the term) coming out of the trigger assembly housing has a serious 'S'-bend in it, but I think that is more on the normal side for a 36. What do you all think?

Assuming this is a defect, I have two options. I bought it through Davidsons, so I can send it back to them for repair/replacement. If they replace it, it will be with a black model as they no longer have the OD, which is ok, just not exactly what I wanted. Or I can send it to Glock. Anyone have any idea which way I should go. I have never had to deal with either.

How long have you had it? Since you have to send it off either way, I'd send it to Glock so you can keep the OD you originally bought.

I've had 2 36s and can't remember specifically having this problem, if it is indeed a problem.

Take it out and take a small hammer and fix it.

Just kidding, I think I would send it to Glock. That way you know its right.

Have you even shot it yet? There may be nothing wrong with it. Send the pics to Glock. Let them decide.

Yep. Looks like my G30, which is the fatter version of the same gun. You're good to go, kp.

it is difficult to get the slide back onto the frame.

To make it easier to reassemble :

1) Push the firing pin safety in and let the firing pin move forward.

2) Move the trigger to the forward position.

3) Reassemble
