I'm wondering if this gun is too big too carry.

If you do carry it what IWB holster would you recommend?

The standard M&P should be pretty much equal to any standard glock/taurus/xd/etc. If you think it might be too big, look at getting the compact version. I know the M&P 9mm compact is what I am going to carry next when I get the money.

That's also what I would like to get next. I have a 4" xd for sale right now and when it goes I'm going to get the m&p9c on order.

I carry either a full size 40 or a Compact. I carry the full size in an OWB covered by a shirt; it prints, but doesn’t really show. I carry the Compact in a Supertuck (but wish I would have got the Bullard). It’s more concealable, but is still pretty thick. They are both great weapons, but I don’t know what your idea of “Too big to carry isâ€.

Not always but...M&P9 std size. D.M. Bullard "Dual Carry" IWB, leather. Very nice.

Same here. Not my EDC but been carrying it more since the Holland House incident. See my review of the Dual Carry.

I will say due to the 4:00-5:00 position you definately know it's there while your driving. Around town it's not a big deal but I would pull it out if I knew I was going to be driving a long distance.

I carry an M&P9 FS everyday in a Comp-Tac Minotaur.

Very easy to conceal, even with a t-shirt and jeans. No need to go smaller as long as you dress around the gun a little bit.

I carry a fullsize M&P in a Supertuck - fits well, carries well, and comfortable.

I carry an M&P9 all day everyday (albeit OTB) and it's not too big with the right belt and holster. If you are going to carry IWB, the Crossbreed Supertuck is the way to go. D&T Arms keeps them in stock if you want to see one in person.

Did you do that reverse firing pin mod to your M&P?

Reverse FP mod? Hadn't heard of it. Please 'splain.

It's a take off of the notorious H&K add where the mag was loaded backwards. From there it became kinda of an H&K tradition to post H&K pictures with a bullet loaded backwards.

Every day. M&P 40 in a TT Gunleather / Occidental Leather Stronghold Phoenix inside the waistband holster or a Raven Concealment Systems Phantom outside the waistband holster.

I have found that It is still more comfortable than anything and I wear it canted forward some so it doesnt really press into my back.,

As for size it depends on you. I carry either a Glock 22 or Glock 20SF in a Don Hume 715 series IWB. Slim and easy off/on.

Holster are like many things, they come and go until you find the perfect one. :)
