Music City Cup 2011

Well, it is OFFICIAL. Music City Tactical Shooters will be hosting a sanctioned IDPA match on November 5th, 2011. We have classically named it the Music City Cup. Details, advance registration, and fees will be forthcoming on the website soon. We hope each one of you will take an opportunity to help support our growth.

Will guns be weighed? If so, what will be the official scales and procedure? My Caspian Widebody with empty mag is on the line depending on the scales used. Does IDPA prescribe an official scale to be used? TIA

We will be following all IDPA HQ recommendations for the sanctioned match. I have found that if you let people bend the rules that is an injustice to all of those playing by them. (Edit for Examples: There are two separate IDPA sanctioned matches where one competitor won his division and was not bumped up to a higher classification and another one was won by an individual with IDPA expired membership. Both were unfair to the other competitors but found out after the fact.)

IDPA does not have official procedures nor brand of scales used in weighing an unloaded weapon.

Hey everyone .this is my first post here just found the forum today. I'm glad to hear that theres another big match here in tn. I shot the 3 in manchester last year and plan on it this year and mcts is about the same distance for me.so i'll probably make to this one also.

Good to hear! I will be working all 3 manchester matches this year. This match will far exceed everyone's expectation on course design. I will be having the registration form with fees on the website this week.

will there be a limit on the number of shooters at this match? also have you come up with a design for tee shirts i like tee shirts

As of right now there is not a limit on the participants allowed at the match. Information about the match will be forthcoming this week about the match.

Match stages will be 12 in total. Challenging and fun stage designs will be done. If you are interested in helping in the match, please PM or email President@mctsclub.com with your experience in big matches besides shooting them. There will be some special things for those that help with the match including free match fee. As time gets closer, more industries that will be sponsors is being finalized.

It wasn't a mistake. You did the best you could at that time which was SS. You always want to try to move up and compete against better skilled competitors. Treat it like a game, because besides myself, I only know of one other person that carries a lightened Glock 34, EAA Witness Match, or fullsize 5 inch 1911 on a regular basis. Very few people actually compete with what they carry.
