I guess the SP101. I'm on the small side so it would be hard for me to conceal carry the SP101 without printing like I'm carryinhg a bus.

I have tried carrying 1911's but they poke and prod me and are uncomfortable by the end of the day (around 5 or 6).

I want something I can carry until bedtime. While not a choice I can carry my G26 till bed time and not even notice it's there most of the day until lights out.

I would go with the 1911.

I usually carry my Kimber Ultra CDP, the small alloy frame, 3" barrel .45. I use a milt sparks VM II IWB holster, its comfortable and easy to keep hidden.

I have a couple that I change up depending on time of year and where I am going, a Beretta Px4 9mm and a 4" .357 wheel gun.

i would like to carry my full size but the size just does not agree with me. i seem to carry my pf9 and bodyguard 38spl the most. both at the same time works for me. i must not have the right holster and belt for my full size guns

2 1/4 in bobbed hammer 357 sp101 or a 1911 springfeild milspec or similar

For pure CCW? the SP101

I have an amazing 1911 collection, and drink more JMB kool-aid than I should, but guess what I carry 90% of the time?

.357mag J-frame....

Goes bang EVERY TIME

Can shoot from deep concealment/under clothing

No worries of the gun going out of battery in extreme close quarters battle

About as idiot proof as you can get. (and in a stress-fire situation, idiot proof saves lives)

I carry my Kimber Ultra CDP .45 ACP, or my Ruger SP101 .357 Magnum. Lots of punch, and not too heavy for a carry weapon either.YMMV

Because you said a G30 belongs in the kitchen, I am just going to assume you have no idea what you want or what you are talking about so aside from this minor rant, I will give no input.

A lot of good opinions and reasons for them have been given here. I guess the main thing would be it also depends on the type of holster, clothing, and situation. It is impossible to have just one 100% go to gun or method of carry. I change guns and holsters dependent on my situation and clothing. You have to learn what feels right and also looks right for you.

I'll always take the pistol over the revolver in any given situation. I'm not really a revolver fan. It's easier and faster (for me) to slam another magazine in than to try and reload a revolver.

I carry a 4" 1911 every day, I like having a bigger gun and 16rds. In full disclosure I've never carried a revolver, but that's because when faced with a similar question as yourself I chose 1911.

1911 sub-compact with a Crossbreed Supertuck. With the right postion and cant adjustment I can conceal mine easily with a t-shirt. At times you won't even know your packin. And thats sitting, standing walking etc.

I love revolvers, but I shoot pistols better. Love the Gemini SP-101's though. Between the two you listed, I'd go with the SP, after Gemini has worked magic on it. You would have about what a Kimber or SA alloy 1911 would cost in it, but it would be a truly custom gun. But I'd feel perfectly comfortable with either you have suggested.

This from someone that usually carries a Glock of some flavor, a SIG P220 Elite, or a Ruger SR9. Of these three, that covers 95% of my days. The other 5% is a revolver. The SP-101 and J-frames just disappear for me, and that is what I usually choose when I need to go small. I'm more comfortable with a .38 or .357 than most of the .32's and such out. Although the LCP is a great gun (I think, my wife will not let me borrow hers!). And the new small 9mm's might just replace my "little" gun.

SP101, 2.25 is what I've been shopping for and intend to carry. That or my SR9.

I'm also hurting for a PX4, if you would like to tell me about yours adam I'm welcome to a pm.

I've carried both and am comfortable with both. It's almost impossible for me to choose one. It's like picking your favorite of your kids.

I agree , the 1911 and the SP101 are the best of both world . One from the Semi-auto and the other from the revolver . Both are EXCELLENT!!!!
