I found this for my droid X, I do not know about the Iphone someone else will need to confirm.

I was just looking in books and reference and came across Survival Guide which is really an app for U.S. Military Survival Manual FM 21-76.

The app is really well put together, an easy read, not a PDF. It is broke down into the difference sections and it is Free.

What happens to those apps when the phone battery goes dead and you have no way to charge it?

Moped, obviously this shouldn't be relied upon as your only copy. You can get hard copies for a few bucks off Amazon/ebay, print them for free, or buy them at surplus stores.

I would read and memorize it (not that I plan on doing that, but if you are worried about not having the app and needing it...), and then you don't need any of those things.
