scope mount problems

I have a .270 winchester rifle and I need to set the scope back a bit to get a good sight picture. The problem is that I've set it back as far as I can with my mounts. I would appreciate any suggestions. My current are see through mounts and the scope is a 6.5- 20 Simmons. I had to use see through mounts to get the scope off the barrel.

Can you turn the mounts so that they both angle to the rear? My Stevens rifle had to have Weaver mounts that had offset to the rear for them to work for me. Good luck with yours.

Have a Savage had the same problem if you want to use that scope offset mounts that position scope farther to the rear or see if you can find a one piece picatinny mount thats what I did on the savage other than getting a long eye relief scope and since we are talking eye relief make sure you have plenty of it or a trip to the doctor might be in order

Thanks for the suggestions. As to eye relief, I can get close enough to get a full sight picture, but I have to lean forward to do so and cannot get a good cheek weld.
