HK USP; Fullsize vs Compact

I compared the two at G&L H'ville. The compact was $750 and had only been there a week. The Full size was $475 and had been there a year. I couldn't tell a difference, besides .5 inches in the barrel. Same barrel thickness, grip width, height. So I bought the full size. I will be CCW'ing the H&K. It's much thicker than the glock 19 but, the SA trigger on this thing is butter! I managed to buy it for $450 plus a couple of range visits. So basically $430 because I am there more weekends than not.

Does anyone here CCW a HK USP?

I will probably find myself with a P2000 one day. Now my H&K G3 has a sister.

I don't carry mine but I do own one. It's a great shooter but too big (IMO) to be a carry piece. If I oc'd it wouldn't be an issue but since I CC IWB I think it would just be too big, bulky, and uncomfortable. I haven't tried it but it would probably conceal pretty good OWB in winter with a jacket.

I have a USP .45 Compact that I carry sometimes. I carry it in a fobus paddle holster. I usually wear loose fitting clothes and my shirts come down far enough where I can conceal it with not too much of a problem.

I've been wanting a .45 Fullsize USP for awhile now. Probably not the best choice for me though since I have to conceal my guns extremely well while at work.

I've owned both and found the compact much more concealable than the full-size. Sometimes even the smallest differences in size can make the biggest differences in concealment. The full-size is definitely more than just 1/2" longer in bbl length (assuming they haven't changed it since the late 1990s when I owned them). I know the USP Compact in .45 is bigger than a standard USP Compact, though. In any case, unless you are a really slim fellow that likes to dress with tight clothes, with the right holster you should be able to conceal it well enough.
