What is your gun buying plan for 2008?

Well, now that the AK is replaced by the FN SLP... and my pocket pistol needs are met, the only other things I might possibly consider are:

1. .357magnum revolver (thinking single action...)

2. Basic 20ga SxS coach gun for my wife (she wants one...)

3. Maybe, just maybe, replace the XD-357 Service with something else. (but I want to see how the repaired striker pin holds up)

I saw a Stoeger Coach 20ga at The Sportsman Store in Dickson, I know it's far from Tullahoma but Stoegers are about the least expensive SxS's I've seen. I have a 12ga Uplander and haven't broke it yet.

I am planning to buy a M&P15OR or M&P15T and with a $100 rebate from S&W makes it look better.

I bought a S&W M&P15OR yesterday, I am now waiting on a Eotech red sight, and I also bought a ambi sling mount and a blackhawk sling from Joe at Hero Gear.

I am looking for a rifle AK or AR (may go get that Saiga I saw this weekend)

a hunting rifle (though I really want my dad's Model 88 Winchester in .308 just have to quit smoking first)

a .357 magnum (preferably a S&W model 19)

A Seecamp 380

As long as the bills are paid I can get what I want (within reason) I already picked up a Kimber Pro Carry and a Stoeger Stainless SxS 12 ga with part of my tax return

Prefer to keep all the rifles .308 but that could be costly in the AK or AR platforms

Getting my gun out of layaway at the shop, first off. After that, the things that require paperwork . . .

-.22 suppressor of some flavor.

-Having the 870 currently in layaway cut down to 14 (possibly 12.5) inches.

-.45ACP suppressor.

After that, I'm sticking with the plan I had from this time last year--slightly modified now.

1. USP Compact 9mm--for (relatively) affordable plinking.

2. H&K USC .45 carbine--converted to UMP with 7.8" barrel.

3. Kimber 1911 Rimfire--the Mosquito just isn't the same!

4. Remington 5R, Leupold 10x40 (because "sniper rifles" are evil, too . . . )

5. H&K USP Compact Tactical.

With assorted pistols and revolvers in 9mm/.38/.357 and .45ACP thrown in as the urge hits me, a spare 870, and a case each of ball in every caliber. And of course I'll keep 230-grain Golden Saber, 168-grain match BTHP, and a handful of 2-3/4" shells in #4 flavor for "serious social interaction."

Had to make a couple of revisions . . . temporarily postponing the M1A and 556 until I finish my Mustang. Plus, it makes better sense to me to get a carbine/SBR for which I already have hundreds of rounds.

:( Let me rephrase that--I took the 556 off my buying list temporarily. I never owned one, but all reports from regulars and my EXTREMELY limited range time (literally 5 rounds) are very positive. To me, it had less recoil--which makes it almost totally non-existant--than the rest of the AR-style family, most likely due to its heftier fore-end.

I'll edit my last post to make that more clear.
