license, permit, insurance holder for car

I am looking for a small simple holder for my drivers license, hcp, car registration, car insurance, and any other permits i want in there.

I would put a 2nd (legal) copy of each of these items in there and just keep it in my car in an easily accessable location, so that I can just hand everything to a cop when pulled over, isntead of having to rummage through wallet and glove box.

In case you are worried about someone stealing it, I would most likely find an easy to get to, yet somewhat hidden location to put it, so that it would not get stolen if someone broke into my car.

Any ideas?

Technically, you cannot legally obtain a duplicate driver's license unless your current license is lost, stolen, or destroyed. The terms for issuance of duplicate licenses is in TCA 55-50-332.

EDIT: Also, I had to get a replacement DL after losing one years ago. IIRC, I had to sign an affidavit stating that my original was lost or stolen.

I keep a copy of my Insurance and Reg. in my sun visor.

If/when stopped.

When the officer asks for my papers. With my hands still on the wheel, I let him/her know my insurance and registration are in my sun visor. Sir/mama my license/HCP is my wallet in my back pocket I will need to reach for it. I wait until given permission before acting.

Last time I was stopped was before I had my HCP and I was not carrying either. He did ask me if I had a gun and I correctly answered no.
