Need some feedback

Ok guys and gals,

I am currently in the process of looking for my next handgun purchase. I have looked at the Springfield XD and the XDm. Just trying to figure out what the difference is between the two of them other then the cap of the mag. Also if anyone has one and what they think. No offense to the Glock guys and gals but I just dont like the feel of the Glocks. I have had one and it just wasnt for me.

Both XD's are fine guns in my opinion. However, i picked up a M&P today rather than the XD. I'll report back after i get it to the range for a few days

I have owned an XD9 and a .45. They really felt nice in my hand, very easy to field strip... they just didn't shoot well for me because the bore axis is really, in my opinion, needlessly high. Just the design. It's what made the difference for me. I won't go that way again. There are other guns that feel as good, and shoot much better, again, for me.

There are many more than "the two of them".

XD and XDm .45 same capacity

XD 9/.40 subcompact and XDm 9/.40 compact are same capacity

Lots of other diffs, I'll let others chime in.

I have 3 XD 9mm's, but never have gone to XDm, cause only the .45 mags interchange.

i have the xdm 9 i will have to say it is my favorite of all the guns i own. i do not care for the glocks myself just does not feel right in my hands. the xdm has the changeable back strap for better fit to your grip where the xd does not the xdm also comes with the match grade barrel. i have shot the xd and liked it also i just prefer the xdm. both are great guns and are accurate.

I recently purchased an XDm compact in 9mm and really like it. Recoil and flip is low in 9mm anyway so no issue there. I am not worried about bore axis as there is plenty I need to do to improve my shooting before reaching the capabilities of the gun and there are plenty of competitors using XD and XDm's.

I chose the compact because it is basically a convertable. Very compact and concealable with the compact mag and full grip with the extended mag. They just released the compact in 40 S&W and think the 45ACP will be released soon.

I did rent and borrow a bunch of guns before making my decision and the XDm fit my hand the best and shot the best for my beginner abilities.
