Such a poor quality gun....full of MIM parts and such a cheap holster.

Fit and finish is first class...better than a regular loaded model in the case next to it. It has everything minus frame rail and guide rod...and well night sights if you want.

I see on Springfield's website that these are "built with the same quality as the TRP and Trophy Match" 1911s without the "extras" which help to lower the price. If you've handled both, do you feel this is an accurate statement? I'm looking for a good, lower cost 1911 in order to start a "fighting" 1911 build. I've got a SA Loaded in stainless and have no problems from it, but have no clue as to if they use MIM parts in their guns. My Loaded was also built in '95 and has Brazil markings. Is this new RO built in the USA? This looks to be a moderately priced 1911 with a good foundation in which to built what you want. Great Pics Spoolie!

I've owned several Springers....I feel I really don't have to do anything to this weapon, it has the best fit of all of them. I might put a full length guide rod and maybe...maybe a magwell along with a front sight....other Springers I have totally rebuilt, I tore this one down today and found all good parts inside.

To reference Nate's post, about the EDC-factor... I believe that they're stating it, just because of three variables that were mentioned in the article. After seeing Jon's gun - it does have a wonderful fit, and is nice and tight, and also doesn't have sights that are condusive to a defensive situation, but then again - it's called a "Range Officer"... so I don't know what to say. :D

I wouldn't carry a 1911 with adjustable sight, daily, but I've seen some people do it. Not my deal, though.
