Ak pistol question

I have an American made AK pistol (IO). It has a rail under the barrel. I want to put a laser light combo on it. I know putting a stock on it would make it a SBR. Would a foregrip make it a SBR?

PLR-16 with fore-grip, which is Kel-Tec factory option item.

No special stamp required, so?

Or do you mean vertical foregrip?

I mean, AK pistols already have a horizontal foregrip, yes?

I'm pretty unclear on this myself, just trying to clarify.

Yes, I was talking about a vertical grip , where you held the pistol grip in one hand and used the other hand to brace the barrel. I want to be clear on legalities. I could just clip a light/laser on it, but it would give more stability if you could hold to a vertical grip . By the time you stick a 40 rd mag of 7.62x39 or a drum on it gets fairly heavy. I certainly want to be complety legal. I think 323ssplt is probably right.

Yep, as little as I know about it, the vertical grip is the no no. For whatever nonsensical reason.

Folks have often opined about mounting them 90 degrees out to the side like a Sten gun magazine, seems there's not a definite legal opinion on that?
