I don't know about faves but my daily checks go something like this:

I used to check freerepublic and dailykos but the people on those sites are generally jerks.

And in case someone asks: Yes, I realize that most of those sites are at odds, they tend to be either very conservative or very liberal. But they all have great headlines and that is where the real news is. Just visiting conservative or liberal sites is pointless because all you hear is what you expect. What you expect isn't news, what you expect is confirmation of your personal beliefs. And, for me, that is very boring.
