A survival trip is cool with me. pick a date and stick to it... we all need to bring tents though. cant go chopping down trees to build shelters in any protected areas. minimalist backpacking has been a hobby of min for years. i know lots of tricks and will share. Sodacan alcohol stoves, fire making, watercollection and such

I made another trip out to obed yesterday and decided to clock the hiking time. It took me a little less than an hour to hike down to the camp site with a light pack on and no stops. I noticed it got pretty chilly down by the water so depending on the weather we might want to find another camp site along the way. Theirs quite a few clearings that should work if you find the hike in a bit too far and the weather a bit too cold. Since we are only about a week away I figured it'd be good to figure out exact times and carpooling if anyone is interested in that. Like i said before i'm bringing my dog but my car has room for 2 more people and gear. The drive from Downtown Knoxville takes a little over an hour. If you're interested in getting a ride with me, or need someone to follow to get over there lemme know.

Well, I've been planning on this trip for a while now. I have told a few people about it, and a some are definitely coming. So, I'm still planning on heading out on the trail. I'm willing to lead the trip if anyone else still wants to come.

I'm not a seasoned "survivalist", and I won't be able to teach anyone the ways of Survivor Man or anything, but I do go backpacking several times a year, and have been camping since I was a baby, so I'm no stranger to the outdoors. And I am familiar with the area.

So, if anyone still wants to go, send me a PM and we'll set something up.
