They say the combination of a GOP-led House and the powerful gun lobby is simply too formidable to take on over an issue that’s become a proverbial third rail of Washington politics.

Why don't they just say what it really is? It's not the GOP or gun lobby, although they do have a powerful influence and of course the vote, but it's the fact that they KNOW that a majority of folks won't stand for it.

Gun, knife, baseball bat or fists, it's the person who chooses to attack another who is responsible, not the object they choose to wield when becoming a criminal.

We already have laws against what happened in Arizona and they did not stop this nut case. How will more laws help?

People hurt/kill people not cars, guns, knives or any other inanimate object.

That's easy. More laws will make it more difficult for you and me to protect ourselves, making us more dependent on the government. That's the end-game isn't it?

Somehow Congress just can't figure it out.... criminals don't obey the law. Hence laws don't prevent crime.
