Jack Weigand No Drill No Tap Mount for GP100. Thoughts?

Recommended Posts

I got a Ruger Gp100 recently and am looking at mounting options for scopes and red dots. I've seen this No Drill No Tap option from Ruger GP-100 Scope Mounts No Drill and have read good things on other sites, but wanted to get opinions from folks here since I trust them more. ;) Any thoughts or other suggestions would be welcome. My main questions are "would it be as stable as a drilled and tapped mount?" and "how much height would it add overall?" Oh, and I am not totally opposed to drilling and tapping my Ruger, I just didn't want to if I didn't have to. Thanks!

If it's any consolation, that looks like about as stable and sturdy a way to mount a scope base as anything I've seen, mechanically. It certainly don't seem like it could move around, using the various notches on the frame and barrel the way it does.
