Not being a politician, I've always had better luck with lead or steel than with paper, when it comes to threat management, so... I believe I'll be keeping my guns. :D

Surprisingly there is some sound information on that card, which tells me that someone with a clue was involved in producing it. Sadly they advise that as a last resort you should "throw items" at the shooter. Happily I carry approximately 30 such items at any given time, each of them weighing 180 grains.

I like the part about throwing things at the shooter.

Its missing a line: "Draw your gun and blow the shooter away"

I like Step 3 under Take Action.

  • Act with physical aggression and throw items at the active shooter

Items like small lead cone-shaped projectiles.

ETA: Cross-post

3. Take action - "As a last resort and only when your life is in imminent danger." WTF? So, if you see your fellow coworkers being blown away and you have the capability to stop the shooter, you shouldn't act? Please.

"An active shooter is an individual actively engaged in killing or attempting to kill people in a confined and populated area, typically through the use of firearms."

Typically? What else might a shooter use to actively kill people?

Its obvious to me that this card is for SHEEP...having one of these...even with the said "sound" advise contained there in, could cause you to have your MAN CARD revoked

This reminds me of the scene in 'Demolition Man' where the new cops are following the script from the computer and the following happens:

[Police Officer talks to his automated assistant]

Squad Leader: Maniac has responded with a scornful remark.

automated assistant: Approach, and repeat ultimatum in an even firmer tone of voice. Add the words, "or else".

I have a hard time believing this is real, but think about how many hours and tax dollars were spent by some committee to come up with this garbage.

Baseball bat. :P

Yea, the fully automatic, assault type.

It seems the DHS has forgotten that the average ordinary citizen is capable of shooting bad guys should the need arise. Should read at the top "Carry a firearm and learn how to use it or follow instructions below."

That's funny. Me 2.

There was one thing in there that was absolutely true:

"Law enforcement is usually required to end an active shooter situation"

That's because they ALWAYS choose "gun free" zones to do their active shooting.

Sad, but true.

Someone on one of the forums I visit has a signature block that states "when seconds count the police are only minutes away". I love our police and have great respect for them, however the only way they could have made any impact on the shooting in Arizona over the weekend would have been if they were standing right beside the Congresswoman. The only way the shooter could have been stopped was by civilians, and some very brave people stepped up and made a difference. Again gun owners are in for another attack on the 2nd. ammendment....

I extend my prayers and wishes for complete and quick recovery for the wounded individuals. A special prayer and wish for Congresswoman Giffords....
