Bushnell 3200 10x 40

Bought a Bushnell 3200 10x40 for the FN Patrol bolt 308. Got it mounted and took it to the range Saturday. 50 yrd sight in took 4 rounds and it was on the money.

Moved the target out to 100 yards. Checked the screws and noticed the rings were loose at the base. Tightened them down and tried to shoot in at 100 yards...that's when the drama happened. Could not put a pattern together at all. Would shoot 3" right one shot then 3" high on the next shot...basically chased that thing all over the paper. Never did get a group together. Now this thing was shooting just over MOA 4 shot groups with my cheap tasco.

Anybody have any ideas as to why this scope would not hold zero?

From my understanding, a scope that is heavier will require better rings. This is because the mass of the scope tries to resist the recoil of the gun being fired. A scope with more mass does a better job of staying where it was. Because of this, the rings need to be higher quality/heavy duty to help connect the scope and the rifle during recoil.

I have had 2 of these scopes with no problems. I like them alot. I did sell one to a friend it went on a Rem. 700 308. He loves it so far. He has had it for about a year now.

I would say that is your problem!

I have one of these scopes and I love it. I tried to use a cheap set of rings and I had the some problem. I replaced them with a set Burris XTS rings and the problem went away.

Kwik Site was pretty good about it. Emailed them the pics, returned the rings to them(shipped on my dime), they shipped me a replacement set(on their dime) turn around was just turn around time for shipping. Dont really trust the replacement rings on a large caliber, but i'll throw them on a .22 somewhere down the line.
