I have used Bud's twice once for a handgun and once for a rifle and BCM (Bravo Company) for an AR upper and lower.

I would use either again and will soon be back to Bud's as soon as S&W does their $50 off deal on M&Ps.

I bought 2 from jetguns using Gunbroker, when they came they both had Bud's inventory stickers on them. No complaints I would use them again if I needed.

I have made purchases from Bud's w/ no problem, but I am really impressed with CDNN. They charge shipping but their prices are generally low enough to still make them the best deal.

Does anyone know if Bud's will allow someone to purchase a rifle from their GunBroker auctions and pick it up in the retail store? I drive to Lexington fairly regularly and I'd rather do that instead of paying the shipping and transfer fees.

they will sell you a long gun out of state (in store) but not a handgun

Right, but if you buy one of their GunBroker auction guns (in this case a rifle), will they allow you to pick it up in person or do they require their auction sales to be shipped out regardless of whether it is a long-gun or not?

No, it's $25 and it takes about 10 days for them to actually ship it out. I would call, but everything I have read and heard says forget it because you get lost in voicemail hell when you call. Of all the complaints about the place is the slow shipping and total lack of communication (especially by phone; they recommend communication by e-mail and they haven't replied to any of the ones I sent). I guess that's the price you pay for their low prices, but if I could just go pick it up, that would be great.

When i bought my walther from them I talked to a real person several times....you will just have to hold....have you ever been to their shop? it's nice and has a great selection in the store and a nice indoor range. I had better luck on the phone....and like i said I called several times. I had to leave a message once I think but they called me back

I have bought a long gun from Buds on GB and did a pickup. This was maybe 2 years ago or less.

You still have to do the background check and then pay sales tax.

Since July I have purchase two handguns and an AR15. Never paid shipping. Only responsible for the trasfer fee to the FFL.

I have never called them because I have never had to. My guns all arrived at FFL within 4 days. Sorry to hear of your troubles.

I have never been to the two sites the OP listed. I have bought 4 guns online with no problems.
