CCW with an AR or AK "pistol"

Now, please note this is just a hypothetical question first of all. A buddy and I were discussing carry legalities at work today on lunch break and this question came up. None of us really had an answer but none of us were really serious about it either. It was just something we thought of. Now, since an AR reciever or an AK reciever can be registered as "pistols" does this also make them eligible for CCW? Just looking for facts here. Once again neither one of us would ever think of jumping down that hole. It was just a conversation that got brought up with very little sleep and too much caffeine in the office. Any ideas?

I dunno about carrying one being practical... but technically it is legal, and it would certainly be practical to use one as a car/truck gun, since long-guns are not permitted to be loaded in a vehicle, but pistols are... if you have a permit.

Oh, no, it wouldnt be practical in any sense of the word to carry the thing. Though i could see someone deviseing some sort of sling to carry it under a coat. Scary thought.I could only imagine the state or the ATF's reply back. Black helicopters galore. lol

I've actually done it. Not comfortable but fun.

Whether to or not depends.

If you're a middle aged Orthodox Jewish man with a young son you might get stopped and asked about it.

If you're a 20-something Black kid with a Thug Life t-shirt and do-rag then you should expect to get thrown to the ground with a gun to your ear.
