Great forum! I'm just getting in to handguns for target and for carry. I've signed up for the cwp class locally. I grew up with hunting firearms and occasionally plinked with the pistols...I've a lot to learn though. So many models to choose from. Thanks in advance for those who take the time to share their knowledge.

Hello from Madisonville(just south of you). TGO is a great place to learn and share your knowledge. You're right about the many choices out there for handguns...there are a bunch of options. My advice to you is to take your time and do your research before purchasing. If you make a split decision, chances are you'll end up with a gun your not happy with.
