NRA keeps sending me to much Junk.

They keep asking for Money but seems all they do is send more Junk.

I signed up with them last June, then in Oct I started getting emails asking me to renew. Today I got a letter in the mail asking me to renew and telling me I would expire June 2011.

I think the NRA needs to Fire their Mass Mailing Person, it would save them a ton of money.

I will not renew until it is time to renew.

From what I've heard, you can call them and ask them to stop mailing stuff and they will. I keep meaning to do it.

I have a buddy at work that complains he gets a couple of things a week from them. I get maybe one thing every month or two. Not sure why he gets so much and I get so little, I've never requested to get off the mailing list. I also never sent back anything to them other than my initial registration. I've never signed up for all the "benefits" they offer, so maybe that's part of it.

analog_kidd, I have never sent anything back either, never signed up for everything extra either.

I guess I need to give them a call. There is not a week that goes by that I dont' get something I believe.

I get mailing from them about once a month or so. I am a Life member so I don't have to worry about renewing. So most of it I don't even open just dump in the trash. I get far more JUNK mail from Comcast, credit card companys, AARP, AAA, my insurance company and others that I can't think of. They go in the trash too.

So to me junk maiil from the NRA is just the tip on the ice burg. I just learn to live with it and feed the local land fill.

I'm tired of the crap they send me.

What is more annoying is the fact that 3 months after I started my membership they were already trying to get me to renew!! I get a renewal offer every month. Makes me NOT want to renew next year.

Exactly, Don't know when I got my first renewal, but I signed up in June and I know I was getting them in Oct.

I used to get a lot of unsolicited postal mail, but I put my name on the national do not send list and now I rarely get stuff. Of course that does not impact businesses that you already do business with, like the NRA if you are a mamber.

One thing I do with junk mail is when I get a postage paid return envelope for something, I'll put some other junk mail in it and send it back to them. Of course I make sure nothing has my name or address on it before I send it back. When you snd those envelopes back, the company has to pay for it, but they are just paying for more junk. Makes me laugh every time I do it.

I used to do that, however I rarely get anything that has a posted paid envelope now.

That's true. I did it several years ago, and the junk mail has decreased dramatically.

Yeah call them. I got tired of it. Very tired. I was geting 2 and three or more mailings a week.

I called them and asked them to please stop I just didn't want all that mail and for them to waste so much on postage and they stopped it to a trickle. maybe one or 2 things a month plus my magazine.

I think you have to call everytime you renew though. But at least it's a good cause and worth it.

Did you guys actually think that your membership fees went to "defending our rights"? :D

well when I signed up I got a $25 bass pro shops card and a range bag so it was a win win for me at the time

Membership fees go toward paying for your magazine subscription and all of the various NRA firearms education programs. If you want to "defend your rights," you should donate to the NRA Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA). They are the lobbying arm of the NRA, and are the ones walking the halls in DC and state capitols. I am a life member, but I still make donations to the NRA-ILA.

To stop getting mail from the NRA, just call NRA Member Services at 1-877-672-2000 and speak to a Membership Specialist to ensure you no longer receive any direct mail. Simple as that.

Ok, odd. They claim to have sent me one too but I never saw it. Then again it may have been in one of the envelopes they send every so often that I just throw in the trash. Maybe I should open these things more often. :)

I thought I heard the shredder slow down, thought it was just a few extra pages in the envelope.

Only thing I get from them every month is the american rifleman magazine. Other than that I dont hear from them again until a month or so til renewal time.
