Don't you all hate it when relationships end abruptly right after the holidays? I know I do!

I wont bore everyone with the sad details, but I swear I think I just got "used" by my (now ex) girlfriend. Get the Christmas presents and then suddenly be "seeing someone else." Interesting tactic.

Sorry all, but I had to vent juuust a little. Carry on.

Oh, and don't ever share a range bag with someone. Since our range bag was hers I came home to all my ammo and range items dumped on the floor.

How long were ya'll together? Live together or just dating?

Even that's complicated. I've actually been married to her before (ah, I can hear the laughter from here).

Guess I didn't learn my lesson the first time. We'd been "back together" for about a year. I was married to her for three years, but there was a chunk of several years between then and now.

She's been staying with me and our son every weekend..and apparently with someone else during the week.

I wont call that an abrupt end to a relationship. I am surprised that you are surprised. Move on brother and enjoy your new year with a new and hopefully happy chapter of your life.

Move on.

Get her out of your system but be friends with her for your son's sake but go find a new lady to spend time with.

No laughter here man, but the fellas are right. Time to move on. Ending a relationship is always a little tough at least, but more often than not it's for the best. Wish ya the best.

Ah. I've not quite been in that situation but I've been in a dating relationship years and years ago where she was apparently still getting reamed on certain days of the week by an ex of hers. You don't want to be in that situation. You never know what they're bringing back to the bedroom, or whether some pissed-off jealous other boyfriend is going to show up to beat your ass or worse.

She did you a favor.

She did you a favor.

Yup. Plus she left all your stuff and just took the bag.

You're quite lucky you didn't get left holding an empty bag. :D

Sorry to hear that man, but it seems the time has come to close that door an move on. If I had to guess, she might try and crawl back into your life for a third time, but whatever you do, make sure it is what is best for your Son and you.

Thank you all for the support. I can't say I'm overly surprised it ended, but the timing just irritated me.

After all, I could have bought a new gun for what I spent on her for Christmas! And the gun would actually be around for a lifetime.

No, I'm not really that shallow. Just trying to throw some humor into the situation. :D

I know I'm better off. I shouldn't have allowed any sort of getting back together to occur in the first place.

The whole thing is kinda like hunting rattlesnakes with a spork. I was real fortunate that I was able to go back and get the best one of the bunch. It wasn't an ex wife either. To me, character is THE most important thing, even though Little Mike never thought so. He always had two votes to my one, so it's been a bumpy road.

Sorry to hear about that. Seems like everyone else has pretty much summed it up. The only thing that comes to mind is:

"Women. Can't live with them, can't kill 'em." -- Tom Arnold, True Lies :D

I understand the frustration and and maybe anger you feel...at least she didn't leave you for another WOMAN...this happened to me Christmas time 14 years ago...we'd been dating for the better part of 2 years...when she used the term FAG HAG to describe her single life in Charleston, SC...I shoulda found a big clue. Oh well...on to better thing my friend...its out there waiting

Just trying to throw some humor into the situation. :).

Speaking of that, consider this:

Somewhere out there, there's no doubt some poor bastard who wishes his Christmas present had been his wife/girlfriend leaving him for somebody... anybody... else. And is jealous of the fact that you got a discount on what it's gonna cost him a :poop:-load more money to accomplish. ;)

I think you may have missed your calling as a motivational speaker :)

i give you a new range bag catch me at the knoxvile gun show pick it up david

David,

Just wanted to say thank you for this offer! Yet another example of TGOers willing to help each other out. Thankfully, I was able to pick up a new bag already. Had to order some new hearing protection too since mine seems to have "vanished." Certainly appreciate the offer though!

Getting taken for the Christmas presents is pretty cheap considering how much more it would have cost you in time, money and emotion had you decided to remarry her. I would seriously look at having some tests done to make sure she didn't leave you with any presents.

The biggest victim in this whole situation is the child. He is left wondering which one of the guys she is dating is his father or left doubting if he even has a father. Sounds to me like the women is more concerned with pleasing herself than putting her child first. Her behavior isn't teaching the child how he should be towards women either. Hopefully by living with you he will not be as badly affected by all of this.
