Purchasing a gun from an FFL

Don't know where to put this so here it is.

When purchasing a gun from an FFL, you have to fill out that form. On the form it says country of birth. I was not born here so I put England, and the store I bought it from (gun city) had me show proof of residence in tennessee for 90 days, my green card, and a TN drivers license. So I showed 3 NES bills, and the other 2 and I was good to go.

Now I will be a US citizen very soon, but obviously I will still be putting England on that line.

Will I still need to show proof of residence for 90 days?

Or can I show a US passport?

Or was that 90 days thing just for that store?

Guess I'm not up to date on becoming a citizen, I thought a green card meant you were a citizen? In any event, the only thing I've ever had to show was my TN Driver's License. I even bought a handgun about two months after I moved here from VA and wasn't asked for anything other than my DL. I was in the military and always had a TN Driver's License so I don't know if that had anything to do with it. Anyway, congrats on your soon to be citizenship.

If you are a green card alien with a TN drivers license then you are eligible to buy a gun like anyone else. All you need is to put your A number and check the appropriate boxes. The 90 day business is for non-immigrant aliens (e.g. students). Once you are a citizen then you are no different from any other citizen.
