I just purchased a Remington R1. I did a lot of research on these before deciding to get one and I'm glad I did. I really like this pistol. It shoots great, smooth action, accurate and I haven't had any issues so far. It is lighter than it looks and has a good balance. I really can't find anything I don't like about this pistol.....so far. I still need some more range time with it, but I am pleased at the moment.

nice looking piece Caveman, loving them grips. I fondled one at the gunshow today, they seem really nice.

Yeah me too, pretty nice for factory grips. I'm surprised you found one at the gun show. Out of curiosity, what were they asking for it?

Congrats. I been longing to see one. For some strange reason, I seem to want one of every 1911...heck, make that one of every gun I see.

Looks good. :)

So how will you accessorize it?

I'm having a friend make some custom grips for me. I have no interest in skeletonizing the trigger/hammer or anything like that. It already has a match grade barrel and bushing and a good trigger. I will probably have Bob at CCA take a look at it and make sure it doesn't have MIM parts in it, and if so have them replaced. That's about it.

It's difficult not to fall in love with a 1911 once you've shot one and especially once you own one...the gun hasn't been around for a century without good reason! :)
