I did some when I was a kid and then about four years ago I got back into it. I do it to help out some neighbors. Almost all of it has been coyote. Anyone else?

I used to do alot of trapping, but the liability issues caused me to stop. I mostly trapped Beaver, Mink and Muskrat. I loved it! Just something about wading a creek this time of year that makes ya shutter!

I used to but haven't in a long time. Would like to get back into it but the areas I hunt the owners have to many pets and I'm afraid of hurting one.

Kinda crossed my mind to try some trapp'n, aint done any in years, but dont know if fur from the south will be a marketable item as compared to fur from a colder climate.

Price of fur depends on what region or state you harvest the animal. Out west pelts are more valuable. Around here they aren't worth the time to tan.

I see people on these predator hunting forums selling coyote pelts that have been tanned for upwards of 100 bucks. I guess that would be the way to go if you got into trapping and wanting to make money off the pelts.

I dont know but figured the pelts from a colder climate mite be thicker and sell better, they had a fur sale in Mt.Eaglea coupe years ago but dont think they've had one since, be nice to attend just to see what its all about.

I used to do some trapping as a kid, but haven't done it in many years. Very little virgin territory, like it used to be back in the 50s. I wouldn't mind learning the ends and outs of coyote trapping though. My cousin and I caught a skunk in one of our traps, when we were kids. He tried to get it out... gently! Well, the trap swiveled under his foot, and the skunk shot him a full dose! Took lots of bathing for that country boy to smell like anything other than a skunk! So... ya'll be careful.

I've done a little. Fur prices in this part of the country have been crappy for years. In the '70's prices were good and I can remember my grandpa getting $40-$50 for gray fox and as much as $25 for coons. Getting traps set somewhere where you don't trap somebodys stupid dogs is harder and harder. It is fun though.
