Springfield Armory 9mm Sub compact

I have a S&W 640 J frame for carry which I really like, I have a Beretta Neos for plinking and I really like it and I just got a Keltec P3AT for summer time carry.

I have shot my son-in-laws Ruger P95 and though my fingers aren't quite long enough to get that gun I really liked it and have wanted a 9mm since. I was in the gun store yesterday with my husband and I laid eyes on the Springfield Armory 9mm Sub compact and I held it in my hands and now I want it soooo bad.

It appears to be a good size, it seems to be a good price and my hand fits around the grips just fine (I have small hands).

Any negatives on this piece?

There really are no negatives. The XD is a fantastic platform. I had one and sold it and will probably get another someday. I say go for it.

Yesterday I put 200 rounds through my newly purchased XD9sc and had no issues whatsoever. A lot of the shots were dead center, but low...think that has a lot to do with my technique than the gun. This is the first handgun I have shot in a few years, but I am excited about putting many more rounds through it and working on my shooting. This will also be my primary CCW weapon after I get my permit. If you want more biased opinions, be sure to check out the forums at http://www.xdtalk.com.

You can not go wrong with the XD line, good stuff. However, I have small hands, and I have found the S&W M&P series to fit a little better.Just my o2.

Id recommend also checking out the M&P9 before making your decision. Both are excellent guns and you cant go wrong with either choice.

+1 with small hands. I like the "feel" of the XD better but the M&P "fits" me better. I still prefer the P2000 over both but that is truly another subject.
