MSRP on the website is $995, so street price should be a bit lower than that.

Ouch lol figured it would be around there, I was just praying it would be cheaper.

Mini 14s are in the $950 range MSRP, but go for about $590 best prices online, maybe this will be about same, but probably not right away.

I like it!! Need to start saving my pennies for one. My guess is that this is Ruger's answer to the Steyr Scout Rifle (...another real good idea; but expensive....).

Check this out: The Steyr Scout Rifle Page.

Anyway, they are both a great thing. It's a sure bet that the Ruger will be less expensive and do about the same thing

Thanks for posting this great news.

I'm not crazy about the stock or the muzzle. Other than that I like short handy high-er capacity rifles that are bolt operated. I'm sure they will if they don't currently offer (I didn't click the link) a syn stock or a real wood stock version.

I am not sure if I like this or not. There is something just not right about a magazine sticking out the bottom of a nice laminated stock.

You would think more companies would make a factory option to take the high cap mags. Like the FAL or G3 mags are cheap.

This is really neat and about time! Let me admit I am biased here - I'm a Ruger fan, I own a couple of Minis, and I did own a Frontier rifle in .308 which was sort of the weak sister of this gun. The Frontier was a nice compact rifle and I used it to hunt white tail in the brush in LA one year, but as a true scout rifle it was lacking: no iron sights, and a limited mag capacity (4 if I recall and one in the chamber). I once saw someone modified a Frontier with a fixed M1A mag as their SHTF rifle, which looked a lot like this! I will prob pick one of these up, I'm a fan of the scout rifle concept and Ruger. I will say that a 5 round mag will be more than adequate for hunting etc, the 10 round is a bit much for that.

Projected release date? Did I miss that?

I shall have this rifle:)

OK. I like the rifle and idea. Do not like the single stack mag, laminate stock or plastic trigger housing/mag well....but I really like it.

Reminds me a lot of this....

I am now in a toss up for my next bolt gun. The Ruger Scout or a Rem 700 ACC-SD that I found a great deal on. Decisions decisions.
