Went shooting today at the new G&L in H'ville. Very nice, we had a blast... so to speak... :shake:

We took 4 handguns; in alphabetical order, his 1970 Colt Combat Commander, my Glock 17 and 36, and his H&K P2000 9mm, v3. So, we had two 9's and 2 .45's. Needless to say, my triple expert Marine shot them all well, but we both did best with the same one. (He even told me, "Wow, Dad, that's a perfect T-Box group. You can't do better than that!" I was pretty happy about that; he did so well at LeJeune, they made him a coach for that week.)

So, which one of the four do you think we did so well with?

I'm guessing based on your avatar. Glock 17? Sounds like you guys had a lot of fun though.

And the answer is... the G36. This pic shows my "T box" on the right... but that little orange dot on the left target? That's my son... two mags... that's 12 rounds... at 15 yards... he just looked at it, then me, and went, "Hmm. I like this more than I thought I would." I guess so!

(BTW, his second best was the H&K; he loved it. His 7 rd "familiarization drill" removed the "X" from the center completely.)

I can't say I recall the last time I saw 12 rounds in a hole that size from 15 yards. Good shooting!

I know. I just stood behind him and watched him do it. I was thinking, "Guess that's how he managed to place 14 out of 262 guys at LeJeune." Can't help but wonder what the # 1 guy must have done!
