Nope. I drink Booker's. Not sure you can roll it into balls without an explosion. :D

LOL

Woodford Reserve for me.

That was my main one until I discovered Bookers. Great stuff.

That's weird. Mine was Bookers until I found Woodford. The Woodford seems a tad sweeter than the Bookers to my taste buds. Both are excellent whiskeys.

I tried them side by side, but didn't dilute to Bookers down to 80 proof. I'll give it another shot. Been wanting some Woodford anyway. I did a lot of sampling before I settled on those two.

I hadn't thought of that, but it is the proof difference. Booker is a liittle "hot" for my tastes. Then there's peach moonshine.

AFIK, Woodford comes out of the barrel as hot. They just add water to bring it down to bottling proof. I usually toss some ice cubes in the glass to tone it down a little.

Bourbon balls? Is that the final stage of Beer Nuts?

That or the cure. :D

I thought P*ssy Foot was the cure....

At least that's what George Carlin has led me to believe...

If George said it, it is. I think my balls should be frozen by now, so it's time for a drink.

Apparently I missed the memo on these. :D

Woodford Reserve is ok, but Jefferson's Reserve Very Old Small Batch is infinitely better.

I'll try it. Don't recall seeing it around though. Frugals?

Can't imagine they wouldn't have it. Just ask them at the counter.

Yeah, Jefferson's is good stuff. I keep Knob Creek in the cabinet most of the time though.

Frugals carries Jefferson's.

At the risk of being laughed at, what are they for? Just to make round ice balls or what?

I like Bourbon, Old Charter for me. Just started drinking it more, that and Jack Daniels.

They supposedly melt a little slower due to the fact that a sphere presents less surface area than cubed or crushed ice.

Edit: After talking myself into doing the math - a cube will have ~1.24 times the surface area of a sphere of equivalent volume. I'm not going to talk myself into doing the math to calculate how much faster your cubed ice is going to melt.

To all of you who have gotten this nifty present, I would suggest an experiment. Measure the same amount of cubed ice by weight, and tell us how much longer it takes the sphere to melt.

Just don't handle any firearms while you conduct this experiment or I'll have to kick you into that other thread.:D
