Yep, feed him good for a couple more years, then he might really have a rack.

Actually, I am not sure if the eastern deer have the genetics to develop huge heavy racks like our here. I grew up hunting in the east TN mountains and I don't remember seeing any deer larger than the one in the video. Do you eastern guys see big heavy antlered deer know?

A friend up the mtn. killed a 14pt. last month dressed only 230 , but really nice wide spread rack, about 5yr. old. We all know at 5 he's got as good a rack and is as big as he's going to get. You are right most are smaller, but a great big part of that, is everyone comes up here an shoots a " "button" or spike and 4's or 6's , I know for SURE you can't get a 12 or 14 when ya take all the 4's !!!! Kind of stupid, many when asked, why they shot a spike or 4 say, "I just wanted some meat for jerky," I always think , and a doe won't make jerky !!
