Hey, my name is Gregory. I'm from Sevierville and recently got a Taurus PT140 for Christmas! I am wasting NO time becoming a proud gun owner and I feel this site is a good place to do so. I have owned tons of guns in the past (most rifles) but have yet to achieve much experience with handguns. Did some research and Taurus' used to be really lousy but apparently has made pretty decent strides in the last few years so I'm hoping this lil 40 will be a good starter gun. I'll turn 21 in January and will race to get my Carry Permit. It's a blessing to live in a country with such freedom despite the encroaching legislation about the 2nd ammendment. I appreciate all the information available here and look forward to a long membership with TGO. Thanks and God Bless!

Thanks! I have a question: is there anything that notifies if someone posts something about one of your comments or do you simply have to go to "my posts" and read through them? Sorry if it's a stupid question, I'm part of the facebook generation...don't hold it against me :)

I'll look into the Threads more carefully and check out subscription options. To m&pc9 from seymour, I actually just now realized that so I am very excited. Apparently if you take it within 6 months of applying then all is good! I hope to take the class on January 15th, then renew my drivers and apply for a permit on my birthday, the 24th. Can't wait to have the personal security system installed on my hip.
