Quite a few of us use this range. The only days he is closed is the first FULL weekend of the month. Charlie is a super nice guy. Join as a member for $40/year or go as a guest with a member for $5. They have targets at 25, 50, and 100 yards on the rifle side.

My son and I even went out to CHMR yesterday on Christmas day. He had gotten a new shotgun and my wife had gotten me a Bersa Thunder CC. Tried them both out. Charlie came down to check on us and even gave my son some pointers. Great guy!

I can't say enough good things about CHMR, or the owner, Charlie Haffner. It is the most inherently "safe" range I've ever been to, and I think that's because there's no advertising except word of mouth. If you've heard about it, you're familiar with gun safety, and probably a fairly dedicated shooter.

I'm kind of weird about getting muzzle-swept (I hate it, and will immediately help you in correcting your safety issues), and this has never happened on either the rifle or pistol ranges in my time there. I can't say the same for the TWRA or gunshop ranges.
