Awesome gun. A gentleman had one at the range i went to last week. It truly is an interesting piece. Cant wait until it comes in different flavors from factory other than 9.

The grips are cool too allowing you to add or remove panels to fit your hand size. The gun groups just as well IMO as any other Sig.

I held one last week at Guns & Leather. If it shoots anything like my SigPro 2022, it will be very nice.

I was reading an article that said using the same internals you can switch between 9mm, .357 SIG, .40, and .45 with a simple barrel change. Everything but .45 I can understand, but it does look interesting.

What was the price on it?

Yes, you can switch the barrels out with all of the same internals. Check out sig sauer's website they have a cool video on there about the 250. Arent they not suppose to come out "technically" until sometime this month?I had heard some "certified" sig dealers had them early and do recall fondling one at guns and leather back in December. Correct me if im wrong.

Hero Gear has one... My impression of it was very positive, it will be good competition for the H&K P30 I think. The DAO trigger was one of the smoothest I've ever felt.

My "limited" understanding of the P250 is that you don't change out the barrels, but change out everything except the "fire control assembly" in order to change between calibers and "families (Compact, sub-compact and full). I have not seen one yet in person but have read about them here http://www.sigsauer.com/Default.aspx . If my understanding is correct (and I sincerely hope I am wrong) then this is a bunch of Hype on Sigs part as who would want to buy new slide assembles with barrels AND Magazines to change caliber, and would it really be much of a savings over purchasing another gun? Hopefully I'm way off base here. BTW, Bud's Gun shop in KY has had them for over a month.

I also doubt there are any great savings involved in reconfiguring the P250 over buying another seperate pistol... The idea is neat, and I expect that there will be some market for it (such as large PDs which would benefit from common mechanicals, but retain the ability to fit service weapons to individual officers' hands and needs).

The price was between $600 & $650 and I am hearing that a new slide and grip assembly are going to be upwards of $400 or more.

So, for $1000 you can have 2 guns... which can only be fired one at a time (not an issue if it's just you using them), and require a few minutes to convert. You're really only saving the cost of one NICS check ($10)

Sounds like a similar concept as having one AR lower, and multiple uppers & stocks (which works fine for alot of people). I could see some benefit in having a convertible fullsize 9mm and compact .357sig which share an action... as it is, I can swap uppers and lowers between my XD-9 and XD-357 depending on what caliber I want, if I want a magwell, and if I want a tuned trigger or stock trigger. I'm sure the P250 will work for some people.

That is actually less than I expected. I wonder if the new Slides/Barrels include a mag or two? So If I go ahead and order a .40 S&W barrel for my my P226 in .357 Sig., I'll still have around $1000 invested, but will not have different frame sizes. I guess I can see some benefit, especially if you want to go from .357 to .45 or 9mm.
