Had my first problem with my Glock today.

I didn't have anything going on earlier today, so I decided to go the range before all the Christmas festivities begin. I was working with my Glock 34, and somewhere around the 1800 - 1900th (cumulative, not in one day) round I encountered my first problem. I had a stove pipe.

I think that shooting almost 2k rounds through a handgun before encountering your first problem is pretty impressive. I doubt I will buy another Glock because I hate the ergonomics, but they are certainly reliable.

I agree with Erik88. My personal experience has been nothing but pure shooting satisfaction with all of the Glocks I've owned, I think I'm on either number 9 or 10 now. I've never had a failure to eject, failure to extract or failure to fire. The irony of this is, I've never purchased a Glock new, all of mine have been used, which means someone else put a bunch of ammo through it before I did, and still no problems. I understand they are not for everyone, but my experience is, they sure are reliable.

Questions I have:

1. Limp wristing?

2. Ammo choice?

3. Over lubing?

4. Squib?

5. Lackadaisical shooting technique due to holiday "spirits?"

Now to serious stuff:

1. Extractor broke?

2. Old or cheap aftermarket magazine?

3. Old magazine with worn spring?

I've owned between 12 and 20 Glocks, have 6 now, shot many more and have never had a problem with a 9mm Glock except when I was using some Pakistani ammo.

I think you guys have got the wrong impression from my original post. I am not complaining at all. I thought it was pretty good to not have one single issue with the performance of my Glock for almost 2k rounds. Anyway, it wasn't a big deal and probably ammo related. I fired another 100 or so rounds after the stove pipe and didn't have a problem.

Every pistol WILL malfunction at some point. It may be ammo related, but it will happen.

I've got a G19 with about 10,000 trouble-free rounds down the pipe, but I'm sure it will have a hiccup at some point.

LOVE my Glocks! Never a failure in about 8 of them in every caliber but .40 and .380. Always go bang.

I would love to have a G34, but I'm waiting on the Gen4 models. A 17L and a 24 would about complete my collection. Well, I don't have an 18 either....
