I have a 1952 winchester model 70 30-06, super grade, Montie Carlo stock. made in conn.

serial # 238534. The gun is in very good condition. I was hoping to find out what the gun is worth, it was handed down from my father, i have no plans on selling, just what to know the value for insurance reason.

I think you will be pleasantly suprised (...and possibly shocked...) at the value. I recommend taking it to someone who does apprasials on fine firearms and getting a written apprasial. I would call the guys at R. W. Hart company and see what they think.

Welcome to the site. Like others have said, you can get a general idea of a gun's price by checking Gunbroker, but the prices on there are usually a good 10 to 15% higher than most folks would pay.

Just thought of something else. Look thru here and see if your Winchester is close to any of these: Collectors Firearms

These guys are a big outfit in Texas. They handle losts of Winchesters (...and everything else...).

Merry Christmas

There will probably be a bit of a premium on its value since it's a super grade, so if doing the Gunbroker comparison make sure you are comparing apples to apples.
