PMR 30

I picked up my PMR 30 the other day.

First impression was it has a plastic box and not cardboard........:D

I took it apart to clean before shooting and it has a very easy take down. The take down pin is rather tight but I am sure it will loosen up over time.

I shot only 50 rounds today. I found the trigger to be a nice surprise. It was not a S&W or Dan Wesson trigger but it is a lot better than I thought it would be.

At 25 yards coke cans was very easy to hit time after time.

As most makers of 22s they recommend CCI but the Winchesters I shot had zero problems for this first 50 rounds.

I love the 30 round mags. I only loaded 25 per mag 29 was tight.

The gun was shipped rather dry so if you get one tear it down and lube and clean it before you shoot.

Cool, thanks for the report. Shooting a 22 Mag pistol sounds like an absolute blast! What are these things going for?

Glad to hear they're showing up. And even more glad that your thoughts and findings are favorable. I've like the 22mag since I shot my first in a K22 SW and have been looking forward to seeing and getting this gun. Thanks for the report.

A quick search showed me around $300 from online dealers so I can't imagine it would be any more locally. Pretty good price and I've been wanting to play with one of these for a while :D Looks a little too bulky to carry and I wouldn't think that the .22 WMR would be much of a SD caliber but its bound to be a hella fun range gun.

That thing's gotta be a lot of fun. I've been wanting to try one. It's kinda cool to see all the comparisons to the Five seveN.

That thing looks like it is a lot of fun to shoot, I may have to get one at some point. I wish 22mag was cheaper though.

It kills me to see people trying to get $500-700 for one online. I know everywhere I've seen are out of stock but you won't see me pay up to double for one. I can wait a few months to get one. Looks like a fun gun that my wife would enjoy shooting as well.

I'm not gonna pay stupid money for one either. I'll pay low to mid $300's. It's not real high on my list either, so I expect the price will settle down nicely before I get around to buying one.

+1. I'd like one, but not a premium to get one quickly.

My brother picked his up in Florida last week for 350ish. He lives about an hour from the factory. His dealer told him supply is still tight but they are making them as fast as they can. Hang on because they are coming and there is no need to pay stupid money for one.

Nice update, thanks.

I'm in no hurry, but can't imagine not having one of these for plinking.

IIRC, as soon as you strap that carbine conversion onto the pistol you can't go back - the stock ruins it as a pistol...

Looks like a different animal to me.

Online query reveals that the PMR-30 design engineer is working on a .22LR version of the PMR-30. He was quoted saying that the holdup at present is designing a 30 round magazine that will reliably feed .22LR.

I spent a lot of time trying to pick between that and the plr-16. I finally went with the PLR though, it was a very tough choice. I may still go back for the 30, if the price drops.

A 22 LR version is suprising, a lot more competition in the cheap LR semi autos. I didnt expect that. I am suprised they struggle with the mag; those silly .22 "AR" guns shoot big mags full of .22 LR. Should be easy enough to solve that problem.

Once you do that, isnt it a short barrel rifle, costing a bunch of money in a tax to the BAFT?

Is there another .22LR pistol out there that has a magazine that holds more than 10 rounds? I'm talking in the PMR-30 size, not something like the PLR size.
