I have one of the Bodyguard 38's and am going to lose that one to my wife soon. Am thinking about the .380 been looking at several shops. Just about sold on it. I love the .38, I know alot of the more traditional Smith lovers are not fans at all. Oh well thats why they make chocalate AND vanilla. I have several larger handguns but am more looking for a smaller EDC when my mailman finally gets around to delivering my permit.

I liked the way the LCP shot but hated the sights.

I don't know how you can say that in good conscience. Everyone knows the LCP doesn't even have sights! Well, at least not practically speaking. I have trouble lining those tiny little nubs up on a good day. They may have well just left the dang things off and saved the millimeter of height.

The Bodyguard .380 is a fine little pistol. I don't know of any issues with them other than the laser having to be manually turned on. It seems like if you have time to turn on a a laser then you would have time to actually use the sights.

When I was handling one in the store I found that it was very easy to draw in such a way that you could get the laser switched on before the gun was fully raised. Nor sure how easily that would translate to pocket or IWB carry, though. But if you can get the laser on before you're all the way up, it's already ready when you get ready. And at least the sights are an option on the Bodyguard. They seemed VERY usable.

As for me, after checking out these pocket guns side-by-side, I passed on both. I'll probably pick up either a J-Frame or similar revolver or a little Kel-Tec for part-time duty in the summer.

I wish they offered the BG without the laser.

As for the LCP-sized Sig 9mm, sounds interesting!

I had one for about five weeks. I had to send it back to S&W - the laser was dim and hard to activate. It came back from them and the laser was STILL dim and hard to activate. I gave the gun away.

My friend just shipped his back today for repeated FTF issues and lazer button trouble. New serial# too. I ran the FTF rounds through my P238.

I was killing time last week and picked one up to look at it. It had lazer button trouble on right side but left side button worked fine, new out of the box!

A guy dropped one off here today to have a holster made for it. I haven't shot it, but I can tell you there's way to many buttons, levers, switches, etc; on it for a carry gun. The trigger is awful, and I can't get a good enough grip on the safety lever to reliably work it. I wouldn't carry one if you gave it to me. A carry gun should be a simple point and click affair. I'm a Smith and Wesson guy, but this thing is a no-go in my opinion.

I have one on lay-a-way to be picked up next week, hope it's not a mistake. I have read alot of good and bad things from people who own these now. But looks like the problems seem to be showing up less and less. My wife has the BG 38 revolver and it has been a great addition to our family.
